Rabbi Mendy and Chana Miriam, together with their three children, feel blessed to serve the Jewish communities of Summit and New Providence by sharing the warmth, joy, and depth of Judaism with every Jew—regardless of background or affiliation.
Mendy grew up in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, at the heart of the Chabad-Lubavitch community. He studied at the flagship Chabad Yeshiva, Oholei Torah, as well as in France and Los Angeles, and received his rabbinic ordination at the Central Chabad Yeshiva.
Even as a teenager, Mendy was deeply involved in outreach, traveling to Jewish communities around the world—including Rio, Brazil; Khust and Kyiv, Ukraine; and more—to inspire, teach, and connect with fellow Jews. His passion for Jewish life and learning, combined with his friendly and easygoing personality, continues to guide his outreach here in Summit and New Providence.
Chana Miriam was also raised in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, where she studied before attending seminary in Safed, Israel. From a young age, she was active in outreach programs and summer camps, sharing her love of Judaism with children, teens, and families. Her warmth, care, and genuine connection bring Jewish values to life, creating a welcoming environment for everyone who walks through their doors.
